The Pax Humana Foundation was established today, June 16, 2022, in Rome, on the initiative of Ara Pacis Initiatives for Peace in collaboration with Eni and Luiss Guido Carli University. It is an independent strategic and operational center for peace, security, and development in the Afro-Mediterranean area, and a direct evolution of the Pax Humana Hub established on April 21, 2021. Pax Humana is an open platform founded on three pillars: field studies and analysis, strategy development based on collected data, and project implementation in areas of interest.
The mission of Pax Humana is to offer concrete and coordinated contributions to promote social stability and human security in the broader Mediterranean area, which includes Southern Europe, the Balkans, the Middle East, and Africa. To achieve its goals, Pax Humana promotes interdisciplinary and cross-sector human relations as well as a humanized economy through commercial partnerships focused on dignity and equity, in the interest of peace, stability, and economic growth.
The Foundation’s programs were presented on April 21, 2022, at Luiss Guido Carli University and were also endorsed by Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio, who referred to Pax Humana as “builders of dialogue in a time of crisis, […] who have the merit of focusing on operational objectives” and who “add a valuable piece to the Italian strategy in the region.”
