Ara Pacis Initiatives for Peace is an international not for profit organization based in Rome, dedicated to the human dimension of peace.

We combine international expertise and local wisdom to design culturally sensitive, tailor made, flexible, unique and cutting-edge initiatives that encourage and promote dialogue, coexistence and stability before, during and after conflict.

Ara Pacis places human beings – with their needs, rights, moral resources, resiliency, creativity, spirituality, aspirations, dignity, and capacity to create new beginnings – at the core of conflict prevention, resolution, and transformation.

Our Work Is Based on 3 Pillars:

Peace – Security – Development

Ara Pacis works in contexts of conflict by adopting an integrated approach that combines peace and security with socio-economic and cultural development.

WHERE WE WORK

Since 2010, Ara Pacis has carried out mediation, human security and development projects in Libya, Mali, Niger, Ciad, Sudan and Syria weaving relationships with various sectors of civil society and with local and national institutions.

OUR APPROACH

We work with a horizontal, participatory creative approach, in collaboration with communities, civil society, governments, institutions and leaders from the world of religion, business and security to imagine and promote new narratives and fresh paradigms for lasting and sustainable peace.
