This month marks the end of the first cycle of initiatives supporting the most vulnerable communities in Mali, which involved the collaboration of Ara Pacis with Minister Oumarou Diarra, Delegate Minister at the Ministry of Health and Social Development in charge of Humanitarian Action, Solidarity, Displaced Persons, and Refugees of Mali.
With the aim of responding quickly and effectively to community development requests to improve local economic and social conditions, since October 2021, Ara Pacis has been supporting the Minister’s efforts by implementing initiatives aimed at the protection and development of vulnerable communities in Mali. These initiatives include the construction of wells and water systems to ensure access to water, funding of micro-income generating projects in the fields of crafts, agriculture, and livestock, and the distribution of essential goods.
The regions involved in this cycle of initiatives include Koulikoro, Segou, Mopti, Timbuktu, and Gao, as well as the capital Bamako.
